Orla is a smart recipe generator. We built it to be as private as possible. No account, sign-up, or personal profile is required to use the app.

What we collect

Orla collects the minimum amount of data needed to function:

  • Ingredient inputs you enter — sent to our recipe service to generate a suggestion, then discarded. We do not store your ingredients long-term.
  • User behaviour analytics to help us improve the app. This data is collected via PostHog and is associated with an anonymous session identifier.
  • Basic technical data such as device type, OS version, and app version for crash reporting and performance monitoring.

What we do not collect

  • No name, email address, or any other personal identifier.
  • No account is required to use Orla.
  • No payment information. Subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple.
  • No location data.
  • No advertising identifiers. Orla contains no ads.

How we use your data

Ingredient data is used solely to generate a recipe in response to your request. Behaviour analytics help us understand which features are most useful so we can improve the app. This data is never sold or shared with third parties for marketing purposes.

Third-party services

Orla uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

  • Recipe engine — processes ingredient inputs to generate recipe suggestions.
  • Vercel — hosts the Orla web application.
  • Apple App Store — manages in-app subscriptions.
  • PostHog — anonymous product analytics.

In-app purchases

Optional subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple via the App Store. We do not collect or store any payment information. For billing questions, contact Apple Support.

Data retention

Ingredient inputs are not stored after a recipe is generated. Anonymous analytics data is retained for up to 12 months and then deleted. We do not sell data to any third party.

Children's privacy

Orla is rated 4+ and is designed for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Your rights

Because we do not collect personal data tied to your identity, there is generally nothing for us to delete or export on request. If you have any concerns, contact us at riznewhite@gmail.com.
